Boxing legend Mike Tyson has made a bold real estate move, purchasing a $13 million mansion in an upscale Florida community. This luxury property purchase comes as a result of Tyson’s earnings from his high-profile fight against Jake Paul in November 2023.

The 58-year-old former world champion boxer made his comeback to the ring for a highly anticipated eight-round showdown with Jake Paul, who is 30 years his junior. The event, which was Netflix’s first live boxing event, ended with Tyson losing to Paul, but despite the lackluster outcome, Tyson reportedly earned $20 million for the bout.

Following the fight, Tyson made headlines for investing his earnings into the Florida property, a 2.7-acre lot in the prestigious Tierra del Rey Estates. A special warranty deed filed on January 13 confirmed Tyson’s new ownership, with the final sale date listed as January 8. Tyson’s representative, Joseph Jonathan Schneider, spoke to the media about the transaction, expressing satisfaction with the professionalism and collaboration involved.

“This has been a successful transaction with all the parties demonstrating professionalism and collaboration. The Tyson family has been a valued client and friend for many years, and it’s been a pleasure working with them,” Schneider commented.

The mansion, located in an exclusive and private community, boasts stunning views and offers access to a private lake, providing Tyson with the serene surroundings he sought. Tyson’s motivation for this purchase was reportedly influenced by his daughter Milan’s budding tennis career.

Milan Tyson, 16, is a promising tennis player with connections to Grand Slam-level trainers. She has trained with Patrick Mouratoglou, who was Serena Williams’ coach, further fueling her potential in the sport. Tyson’s new home in Florida allows him to be close to his daughter, who competes in tennis matches in nearby Delray Beach. Realtor Matthew Maschler, who was involved in the deal, shared that Tyson’s primary goal was to be able to easily travel to Milan’s matches and then return to his plane afterward.

“This is all about his daughter and her tennis career,” Maschler said in a social media post. “Mike wants to be close enough to fly in and see her matches and then head off to wherever he needs to go.”

Before Tyson’s purchase, the property was not listed publicly, adding a layer of exclusivity to the deal. Maschler had teased the inquiry months prior, hinting at Tyson’s interest in acquiring the lot.

Tyson’s return to boxing for the Jake Paul fight was considered a potential final chapter in his legendary boxing career. Reflecting on his experience, Tyson expressed mixed emotions after the loss, emphasizing the physical and emotional challenges he faced in stepping back into the ring. He shared that he had fought through personal health struggles, including a near-death experience in June 2023, when he had to undergo eight blood transfusions after losing half of his blood and 25 pounds in a hospital stay.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” Tyson wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after the fight. “No regrets to get in the ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25 pounds in the hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.”

With a distinguished career of 58 wins and six losses, including 44 knockouts, Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2005 but returned for an exhibition match in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr. The Jake Paul bout marked another chapter in his storied career, despite being challenged by health issues.

Now, with a new mansion in Florida and a refreshed perspective on life, Tyson continues to make moves both inside and outside the ring.
