WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar ‘REJECTS’ possible WrestleMania clash with Bray Wyatt

WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar ‘REJECTS’ possible WrestleMania clash with Bray Wyatt in favour of taking on Nigerian giant Omos at the company’s showpiece event in LA next month

  • Brock Lesnar rejected idea of working a match with Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania
  • Lesnar will instead face Omos at WWE’s biggest show of the year next month
  • Stone Cold Steve Austin, Gunther and Bobby Lashley also pitched as opponents

WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar allegedly rejected the idea of working a match with Bray Wyatt at this WrestleMania.

Lesnar has a long illustrious history of competing at WWE’s biggest event, from being the first man to defeat Undertaker at WrestleMania in 2014, to main eventing several of the shows – including last year’s tussle with Roman Reigns.

His status as one of WWE’s biggest attractions has allowed him a say on who he’d like to work with at each WrestleMania, and it will see him take on 7ft 3′ Nigerian giant Omos at the year’s event in Los Angeles next month.

However, Omos may not have been the first idea pitched the Beast Incarnate, according to a report from Fightful Select.

One opponent that was presented to the 45-year-old was Bray Wyatt, but the report states that Lesnar rejected the opportunity to work with the eccentric Wyatt.

There has been no reasoning behind Lesnar’s decision, but WWE must have been close to thinking the match could happen after Wyatt randomly dropped Lesnar’s name during a promo on SmackDown earlier this month.

Wyatt’s unconventional character has in the past made it difficult for some Superstars to feel like they have benefitted from a match with the ‘Eater of Worlds’, but he has shared the WrestleMania stage with names such as Undertaker, John Cena and Randy Orton in the past.

The decision from Lesnar to not want to work with Wyatt, apparently set a late change in motion to the storylines going into WrestleMania.

Originally Lesnar was meant to beat Bobby Lashley at last month’s Elimination Chamber event, and he would then go on to face Wyatt in LA.

However, following Lesnar nixing the match with Wyatt, the outcome to the match with Lashley was changed to a disqualification finish and the former UFC Champion is now locked in to face Omos at WrestleMania – an idea reportedly pushed by Vince McMahon.

There has also been reports that a meeting with Wyatt isn’t the only WrestleMania match that Lesnar could have been involved with.

The original plan was for the Beast Incarnate was to face-off with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, who came out of retirement to main event last year’s show against Kevin Owens.

But WWE were unable to work out a package to temp the WWE legend into another WrestleMania outing against Lesnar.

There was also pitches for him to face Gunther or Bobby Lashley before the match with Omos was confirmed for WWE’s showpiece event.
