Wildfires burning in the West

Wildfires are ravaging many areas in the West, especially in California, and red-flag warnings have been issued from the Northwest into the Rockies.

As of Monday, September 7, there were 76 active large fires that had burned more than 2.2 million acres across 13 states, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.

More than 2 million acres have burned across California. In terms of acres burned, this year is the worst in California’s history.
