Golf fans will be hanging on to the edge of their seats on Tuesday, as the Netflix Cup will make its debut at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas.
The American streaming giant was in talks to broadcast a celebrity golf tournament featuring professional golfers and Formula One drivers in June, as initially reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Netflix has been exploring investments in live sports broadcasting and is in the early days of testing live broadcasts; its first live event was a Chris Rock comedy special on March 4.
Rivals Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video have already added live professional sports competitions to their line-ups, acquiring the rights to MLS and NFL’s Thursday night games, respectively.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Netflix Cup, including how to watch it from home, at work, or on the road.

The Netflix Cup will take place on the Wynn Hotel’s 18-hole golf course in Las Vegas, Nevada
What is the Netflix Cup?
The Netflix Cup is a new competition that’ll feature celebrities from ‘Drive to Survive’, a docuseries about F1 auto-racing, and ‘Full Swing’, which followed some of golf’s biggest names during the 2022 season.
The tournament will include eight players – four F1 drivers and four PGA Tour players. Four teams will have to battle it out to win the contest, each with one driver and one pro golfer, playing an eight-hole match.
The competition is using a scramble format. In a scramble, players on each team will have to hit a drive. The teams then choose their best drive, and both players follow their own ball from that spot until the hole is complete.
The two teams with the best score will progress to one final hole to go all in for the Netflix Cup title.
The event is taking place four days before F1’s first-ever race in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Grand Prix, on Sunday.
Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz will be one of four Formula One drivers to show off his swing, Tuesday
Lando Norris, of McLaren, will also participate in the celebrity golf tournament in Las Vegas
Who is competing?
The tournament consists of four teams of two, featuring one F1 driver and a PGA Tour pro in each of them. The lineups are:
- Lando Norris (UK) and Rickie Fowler (USA)
- Carlos Sainz (Spain) and Justin Thomas (USA)
- Pierre Gasly (France) and Collin Morikawa (USA)
- Alex Albon (Thailand) and Max Homa (USA)
USA’s Justin Thomas will pair up with Sainz in an exciting contest for both, F1 and golf fans
Rickie Fowler, also of the USA, will be Norris’ teammate as they’ll attempt to pull off a shocker
What time does it start?
The Netflix Cup will begin on Tuesday, November 14, at 6 p.m. E.T.
