Tottenham ‘handed boost in £42m race to sign Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo after Juventus cool interest and switch their focus to other attacking options’
Tottenham have reportedly renewed their interest in Roma’s attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.
Juventus were favourites to land the 23-year-old, with Roma ready to accept offers over €50million (£42m).
But the Italian giants have now switched their attention to other targets, according to football-italia.net.

Antonio Conte had the chance to take a closer look at Zaniolo during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Roma in a pre-season friendly.
And the Spurs boss is keen to make him his seventh summer signing.
He has already recruited Djed Spence, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, and Clement Lenglet on loan.
Zaniolo has scored 22 goals and 15 assists in 111 games for Roma since debuting in 2018
Zaniolo has scored 22 goals in 111 games for Roma since his debut in 2018, and although he has been a regular in Jose Mourinho’s side, his role may be adjusted with the arrival of Paulo Dybala.
New contract negotiations for the Italian international have stalled in recent weeks, and with two years remaining on his current deal, it is looking increasingly likely that the European Conference Champions will look to cash in on him this summer.
And reports in Italy are suggesting that Spurs have already had a £25million-plus-Joe Rodon offer rejected by the Romans for Zaniolo’s services.
