Tom Brady joked he could unretire – again – just days before the start of the 2023 NFL season after being snubbed by Peyton and Eli Manning.
The 46-year-old headlined a star-studded group of hopefuls auditioning to join the Manning brothers as the third host on their popular ManningCast show.
In the Omaha productions trailer for the show, which airs as ESPN’s a;ternative Monday Night Football broadcast, Peyton, 47, and Eli, 42, audition a number of famous faces, including Reese Witherspoon and DJ Khaled, with none managing to successfully book the job.
However, Brady didn’t even get the chance to try out as he was left in the waiting room with a dog while Peyton declared there was no one left on his list.
‘No, I didn’t get the ManningCast job,’ the retired quarterback says on a phone call before ominous music begins. ‘I guess I’ll just come back and play football again.’

However, the seven-time Super Bowl winner will be hitting television screens in the near future.
In 2024, the retired quarterback will enter his role as an analyst with Fox, after signing a 10-year, $375m deal with the network.
After retiring for a second and final time in February, Brady this week made his on-air Fox Sports debut.
He briefly popped up on the screens of college football fans when he featured in a promotional video hyping up his alma mater Michigan on Fox Big Noon Kickoff on Saturday and sent a message to other rival teams.
Meanwhile, Peyton and Eli will seemingly remain a duo on their show for its third season.
The brothers auditioned a number of notable names, including both on and off-field celebrities.
Mike Tyson was among the sporting greats but said: ‘I’m just here because you guys have the most punchable faces in the history of punching faces.’
Meanwhile, NCAA gymnastic star and social media sensation Olivia Dunne made a cameo, asking Eli if he had ever heard of TikTok – the social media platform where she boasts 7.8million followers.
She also hilariously knocked a tub of cheese puffs out of Christian McCaffrey’s hands with a football.
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay impressed with his music skills as he sung for the other hopefuls in the waiting room. His performance impressed rapper Lil Wayne, who insisted he had to get the ‘old guy’ on the track.
