There may not have been much sunshine this summer, but that hasn’t stopped brave fashion fans from flaunting a very risqué new look.
Just one quick scroll through social media confirms that skimpy wrap tops which reveal your midriff and underboob by tying fabric around your neck in a halter style have become this season’s must-have look.
Celebrities and influencers alike have been sporting the daring style all over Instagram and Twitter, with fashion brand PrettyLittleThing reporting an 841 per cent increase in searches since the trend began.

This year’s crop of Love Island contestants are jumping on the trend too, with Faye, Millie Court and Rachel Finni all donning bikini versions of the trend in the villa.

But according to celebrity stylist Rochelle White, the trend isn’t here to stay.
Speaking exclusively to FEMAIL, she said: ‘I have been noticing this trend a lot of celebrities and reality TV stars.
‘I think this is a trend and a moment that will pass and might not be one to stay.
‘The style of this usually is a scarf wrapped around the top half of the body to create the look, but with some tops this is the actual style.
‘I think this look is all about adding the extra lift to support and gives a dramatic look to any outfit or swimwear.’
