The USA’s top ten most expensive homes

The US property market took a battering last year with sales declining, mortgage rates surging and house prices staying stubbornly high.

But while most Americans have been left struggling to buy a home, for cash-rich multi-millionaires the game of Mansion Monopoly has never looked so appealing.

FEMAIL has rounded up the top ten most expensive properties currently on the market across the US, with multiple bedrooms, lavish amenities, plush interiors and highly Instagrammable views being the running themes.

The most costly – a sky-high penthouse in New York City – comes in at cool $250 million, while a roster of equally jaw-dropping listings featured on Zillow follow suit. Cast your eyes down to see how the other half live.
