The Masked Singer fans are convinced they have rumbled the identity of TWO remaining contestants as clues point towards noughties stars

Fans of The Masked Singer are convinced they have ‘exposed’ the identities of two of the remaining contestants – both 2000s stars. 

Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall were joined by Ellie Goulding on the panel for Saturday night’s show.

Air Fryer, Owl, Eiffel Tower, Piranha, Maypole, Cricket, Bigfoot and Dippy Egg all took to the stage in the hopes of impressing.

Lorraine Kelly was the latest star unmasked as she was exposed as Owl, following the reveals of Julia Sawalha as Bubble Tea, Shirley Ballas as Rat, Alexander Armstrong as Chicken Caesar and Dionne Warwick as Weather. 

But fans think they have cracked the case of who both Eiffel Tower and Piranha are, after a set of clues gave it away.

McFly star Danny Jones is thought to be the face behind the voice of Piranha, as fans say there is ‘no doubt’ it’s him.

One person wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Piranha is Danny Jones and NOBOBY can convince me otherwise! ‘Hand soap’ clue – McFly appeared in Hollyoaks and the ‘pine cones’ clue – they stared in ‘Just my luck’ with Chris Pine!!! I was an OBSESSED fan growing up and it’s paying off.’

While another said: ‘I have had a crush on Danny Jones from McFly for YEARS and can spot that voice anywhere… HE IS PIRANHA NO DOUBT.’

‘McFly made their debut in the early 2000s (millennium), pine cones rhymes with Jones. Piranha to be Danny Jones,’ one fan claimed. 

‘Happy danny-jones-is-singing-on-national-television-whilst-dressed-in-a-piranha-costume day to those who celebrate,’ said a third.

Another fan claimed the ‘celebratory jump’ Piranha does every time he gets through is ‘so Danny Jones’.

Meanwhile, the other character has supposedly been rumbled as 2000s I’m Outta Love singer Anastacia – despite her having won the Australian version of the show in 2021 as Vampire.  

‘I’m convinced that Eiffel Tower is Anastacia on The Masked Singer,’ one fan of the show said.

Another claimed they had figured out the clue, adding: ‘Eiffel Tower is Anastasia. Her name is a type of flower and she sang flowers tonight, same husky voice too!!’

While a third wrote: ‘I think Eiffel Tower sounds like Anastasia. 

‘And do you know where you find it? Left outside alone is where [laughing face].’

It comes after TV legend Lorraine Kelly was exposed as Owl on Saturday night’s show. 

The moment left viewers and judges stunned as the broadcaster, 64, took off her huge mask to a wild applause from the studio audience.

Nobody managed to guess it was in fact Lorraine who had been strutting her stuff on stage, with host Joel Dommet exclaiming: ‘This might be one of the best reveals we’ve ever had on the show!’.

Unable to wipe the huge smile off her face, Lorraine gushed: ‘I’ve loved being Owl, I’ve loved every single second, the show is so joyful.’

Viewers at home rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, totally gobsmacked following the reveal with one gushing: ‘I never saw that… Lorraine!’.

And: ‘Lorraine Kelly! I am shooketh!’.

Someone else wrote: ‘You could have given me 1000 guesses and I’d never have gotten Lorraine Kelly’. 

With another adding: ‘Nope! Another week where I’ve been completely wrong! Lorraine Kelly is Owl! Love this show!’.

Lorraine later admitted she was shocked that the panel didn’t pick up on he Scottish accent. 

Saying: ‘I worked really quite hard to try and not be too Scottish, but I thought they would get me right away, and I thought it was hilarious who they were saying’. 

‘It was really funny. I was really pleased that they didn’t get me’.

She also revealed that her family would be shocked by the news after keeping her appearance on the show a secret.

‘My daughter just won’t believe it, because she’s always teasing me about the fact that when we sing along in the car, I just make up the words to songs’. 

‘She wouldn’t even think that I’m going to be able to do this because first of all, I’ve never sang in front of anybody, and also because I can’t remember the words of any tunes’.
