The Block: Ronnie insists cheaters Tanya and Vito should pay for schedule change

Ronnie Caceres was left seething on Monday’s episode of The Block after being told the cheating scandal had thrown the production schedule into chaos.

Foreman Dan Reilly told Ronnie, 45, the ongoing fallout from the scandal meant that instead of renovating the hallway and laundry this week, the teams would instead have to do the living room.

A furious Ronnie told Dan, 37, that fellow Blockheads Tanya and Vito Guccione should be forced to ‘pay’ because their dishonesty had caused the change of plans.

‘This week was supposed to be hallway and laundry week. It’s all been changed. They were booked in for this week, and that’s it,’ fumed Ronnie.

‘And what does that mean for our laundry? We have to rip up the flooring, we have to put compressed sheeting down, we have to put waterproof Gyprock up, we have to waterproof, then we have to tile.’

He added: ‘And this has all happened because of Tanya taking that photograph [of the production schedule] and cheating. That’s what it comes down to.’

Ronnie insisted that Tanya, 39, and Vito, 45, should have to pick up the bill for the last-minute changes after causing everything to be thrown off schedule.

‘What about if we get the cabinets delivered, and then Tanya and Vito have to pay cabinetmakers to come back and install it,’ he suggested.

‘They did it! They caused it! Why am I paying for their…’ he added, before trailing off and shaking his head.

Determined to stay out of the drama, Dan told Ronnie it was above his ‘pay grade’ and suggested he work it out with the other Blockheads.

‘So, this is it. If we’re not ready by Friday, no laundry. Or we pay for it, which is going to cost about $1,500 to $2,000. The cheating scandal just keeps going on and on,’ Ronnie later told producers.

‘Tanya and Vito think it’s over. Two points got deducted, that’s it. They’ve done the crime, they’ve paid the time. No, they haven’t. In the real world, we’re going into our own pockets and losing money.’

In what was arguably one of the biggest scandals The Block has ever seen, several teams – including Tanya and Vito – were last month accused of trying to obtain secret information that would give them an unfair advantage over their rivals.

Tanya and Vito were docked two points after it was revealed a ‘tradie’ had sent them a picture of the show’s production schedule in week one.

The whiteboard revealed the dates each challenge was scheduled for, what times the judges would arrive for a tour, and when furniture consults would occur.

After suspicion initially fell on Love Island twins Josh and Luke Packham, Tanya finally confessed to producers she was the first person to see the photo.

Despite claims that someone broke into host Scott Cam’s office to take the photo of the production schedule, Tanya was adamant this wasn’t the case.

Speaking of the scandal at the time, Scott, 58, said he’d ‘never seen anything like this in any of the TV shows I have worked on over the years’.

The Block continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
