The Block: Jenny and Dylan’s home will sell ‘well above’ $4.8million

What happens next for Dylan and Jenny: The Block auctioneer says the losing couple’s home WILL sell – and could even reach $4.8million – after their heartbreak on auction day

The auctioneer who handled Jenny Heath and Dylan Adams’ home on The Block says there’s still hope for the couple after their disastrous no-sale during Sunday’s finale.

Jenny, 25, and Dylan, 29, were left heartbroken after their Gisborne property was passed in at auction. They weren’t the only ones who didn’t sell their renovation, however, as Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra also walked away empty-handed.

Damien Cooley told Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa on Monday the Blockheads are now seeking buyers with hopes well above the initial reserve.

He told radio hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli the pair can expect a sale somewhere in the range of $4.3million to $4.8million.

The highest bid they got on Sunday for their five-bedroom, three-bathroom home was $4,075,000, which was just below the reserve price of $4,080,000.

Cooley said the home is going back to market, but Jenny and Dylan are also open to offers from those who attended Sunday’s auction but failed to bid.

‘They will go into negotiations now, and I’m assuming, most likely, will have an asking price of a number that’s well above what the publicised reserve was,’ he said.

As Jenny and Dylan faced the prospect of not selling their home, Ankur and Sharon were dealt similar cards over at House 3.

Both couples continued to negotiate with their highest bidders after the end of the auction, but as of 9pm on Sunday neither had sold their home.

It marked the first time a Block property had failed to sell at auction since season four in 2011 when two homes, Josh and Jenna’s and Rod and Tania’s, were passed in.

On the other end of the scale, Omar Slaimankhel and Oz Malik broke records with the biggest sale in Block history after offloading their reno for $5,666,666.

‘It was a bittersweet day,’ said host Scott Cam.

‘We had one incredible high and some crushing lows for our Blockheads, who all worked the hardest I’ve ever seen to deliver these houses.’
