The new season of Channel 10’s The Bachelors is about to be rocked by a scandal unlike anything viewers have seen before.

One of the women had to be tested for STDs on a number of occasions after she spoke to the other female contestants about her sexual history, Daily Mail Australia can reveal.

Producers decided STD screening was necessary after introducing a new ‘fantasy suite’ to encourage sexual activity between the suitors and contestants.

‘[She] had to get tested again and again because [she] claimed to have f**ked a porn star and revealed that to everyone in the house,’ a source revealed.

‘All the producers were worried about her getting close to the Bachelors. They were worried the mansion would turn into this super-spreader [event].

‘They needed to protect their Bachelors basically.’

The production insider also let slip that another contestant had to seek medical care during filming because of a ‘fungal toe infection’.

While contestants have been getting physical since the show’s inception, the addition of a fantasy suite – which was referred to a ‘sex room’ by the women in the house – has opened the door to a whole new level of intimacy.

In a franchise first, all three Bachelors will now able to invite the contestants back to their penthouse located at the Q1 resort on the Gold Coast.

This is where the contestants go if they want to have a secret tryst. There is a giant bed, a hot tub, and a few sex toys to add some excitement.

Season 10 started with leading men Felix Von Hofe, Jed McIntosh and Thomas Malucelli going on a blind date with each of their participants before inviting them to live in the Bachelor mansion.

The Bachelors continues Tuesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10
