Vanessa Bryant and her daughters are certainly fans of Taylor Swift after the VIP treatment they received at the hitmaker’s show in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Now, a newly resurfaced interview with Kobe Bryant revealed the late basketball great was a big fan too.
In a 2019 appearance on The Jordan Harbinger Show, the LA Laker admitted to listening to the Grammy winner’s music in his car.
‘I think it’s important to listen to people who do great things,’ he told the podcaster.
‘It’s not genre specific, but Taylor’s been at the top of the game for a very, very long time. How? And why?’ he asked.

Kobe continued, explaining the questions he asked himself, ‘”How does she write?'” and “How does she get into that mental space to be able to create things over and over?”‘
Taylor had just released her seventh studio album, Lover, at the time of the interview.
It was her sixth consecutive album to debut at number one on the music charts.
‘It’s a lot of pressure for her to follow up a number one album with a better album, and then follow it with a better one,’ explained the thoughtful athlete who reported he used meditation to help achieve his goals in a video for Thrive.
It was a practiced introduced to Kobe and his fellow team mates when Phil Jackson was coaching the Lakers.
The five-time NBA champion said a person didn’t have to be a Swiftie to learn from the multi-talented artist.
‘I don’t care if you like her music, or you don’t like her music, look at what she’s doing.’ he pointed out.
‘It’s unbelievable to be able to pull that off over and over and over, so I’ll look at things like that to try to learn from them as much as I can.’

The Enchanted singer met with the Bryant family back stage Thursday night after her show at SoFi stadium.
Vanessa shared some photos of Taylor approaching Bianka, six, and giving her a hug from the stage in addition to the black hat she wore while singing 22.
Other photos show a snap of Vanessa’s denim jacket with ‘Swiftie” embroidered on the back in raised letters, above a photo of Kobe and Taylor on stage together.

In his interview, Kobe remarked about his own interaction with the Eras star.
‘She’s a sweet kid. She was a sweetheart to my girls before she ever blew up and became Taylor Swift, so that’s why, if she needs anything, I’m always there.’
