Taylor Swift is clearly a good luck charm for Travis Kelce, if CBS’s in-game graphics are anything to go by.
During the Kansas City Chiefs’ 31-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, the CBS broadcast aired stats comparing tight end Kelce’s performance when Swift is and isn’t in attendance.
The graphic, which was titled ‘You belong with TE’ in reference to the pop star’s 2008 hit ‘You Belong With Me’ and the NFL star’s position at tight end, showed that when Swift is in attendance Kelce was averaging 99 receiving yards per game at that point of the matchup. His final numbers from Sunday’s game bumped that figure up to 108.
In comparison, CBS showed that when Swift isn’t there, or in their words when Kelce is ‘left to his own devices’, which is a lyric from ‘Anti-Hero’, the lead single from her 2022 Midnights album, he averages only 46.5 yards per game.
Fans on social media were quick to pick up on the graphic and saw the funny side.

‘This is the funniest graphic in sports TV history,’ one fan wrote on X.
‘Safe to say Taylor and Travis belong together,’ said another.
One fan simply wrote, ‘I’m dead,’ with a crying laughing emoji.
‘The entire graphic, compliments to whoever cooked it up,’ applauded another.
‘This period of Chiefs fandom has been hilarious. Just me constantly wondering “why the hell did they word it THAT way?” and then googling and discovering it’s a T-Swift reference,’ posted a fan, who is seemingly learning about Swift through her association with Kelce.
Kelce finished Sunday’s game with final numbers of 12 catches, 179 yards, and a touchdown in what turned out to be his most prolific outing of the season.
In the three previous Chiefs games Swift attended, Kelce recorded 69 yards and a touchdown against the Chicago Bears, 60 yards against the New York Jets, and 124 yards against the Denver Broncos.
Denver ranks dead last in the NFL in yards given up per game and 30 of 32 in passing defense. They have also given up the most points in the NFL by a 14-point margin.
A portion of fans on social media seemed to be amused by the graphic of Kelce’s stats
In similar fashion, the Chargers’ defense ranks 31 of 32 in yards-per-game and dead last in passing defense.
The numbers seem to show that Kelce’s 108 receiving yards per game average when Swift is in attendance received a large inflation as he and the Chiefs continued abusing the worse defenses in the league much like other teams.
So far this season Kelce is the Chiefs leading pass catcher with 36 receptions, 346 yards, and three touchdowns.
The eight-time Pro Bowler also led the Chiefs in receiving last season after he finished the regular season with 92 receptions, 1,338 yards, and 12 touchdowns.
