Sydney Sweeney, 26, admits she feels ‘behind’ with marriage compared to her friends as she reflects on sexy Rolling Stones video and Euphoria co-star Angus Cloud’s death

Sydney Sweeney admitted she feels ‘behind’ due all her friends already being married as she a gave a candid interview to Glamour on Tuesday.

The actress, 26, – who is rumoured to be engaged to her restaurateur beau Jonathan Davino – posed for the publication as she explained that when she goes home all her ‘pals and cousins’ are tying the knot or starting families.

During the chat she also reflected on her sexy Rolling Stones video and Euphoria co-star Angus Cloud’s death.

She looked stunning in the accompanying shoot as she put on a busty display in a denim bralet while fixing the camera with a sultry stare.

On marriage she said: ‘I’d be crazy if I had a kid or got married before I’m 30 but when I go home all my friends or cousins are married and having kids.

‘I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m behind the train right now. How can I pick it up?’ So honestly it’s where I am in the world. It’s crazy.’

She added: ‘I think about having four kids. I dream of teaching them how to ski when they’re little and having them follow me around on adventures, taking them on hikes, teaching them how to build tree houses, just living through their imagination. That’s something I really, really look forward to.’

Elsewhere, when discussing the Rolling Stones video she starred in back in September and the online commentary around her sexual objectification, she brought up feminism.

Sydney puts on a racy display in the video for their new single Angry as she slipped into a leather crop top and matching skimpy shorts while frolicking on a car.

She said of the choice to star in the sexy video: ‘One of the questions I get is, ‘Are you a feminist?’ I find empowerment through embracing the body that I have. That’s sexy and strong, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.

‘I’m in a Rolling Stones video. How cool and iconic is that? I felt so good. All the moves, everything I was doing was all freestyle.

‘I mean, who else gets to roll around on the top of a convertible driving down Sunset Boulevard with police escorts? It’s the cool things in this career that I had no idea I’d get to do.’

Meanwhile also during the wide-ranging interview she discussed the untimely passing of her Euphoria co-star Angus Cloud earlier this summer.

He died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and other drugs, a coroner confirmed.

The star, who played Fez in the hit HBO series, died in July aged 25.

Sydney said of the sad death: ‘My co-stars and I were constantly on the phone with each other crying, because it was just such a shock. I don’t think it’ll truly feel real or hit me until we’re filming and I won’t see Angus on set.

‘At least when we are filming, all of our eyes are on each other and we’re there for each other, just in a different way than we’re able to when we’re all in very separate places in the world.

‘It’s really interesting when someone passes away in our industry, because they’re still alive in so many forms.’

She has been embroiled in rumors of a romance with her Anyone But You costar Glen Powell in recent months.

But Sydney has remained engaged to her fiancé Jonathan throughout that period, and she offered up an update on their wedding plans on Monday while at the premiere of her new romantic comedy.

The actress told Entertainment Tonight that she had been so busy lately that wedding planning had been far from her top priority.

‘I am so busy working! I’m a workaholic and I love it, I love it,’ she said when asked how far along her wedding planning was.

She shared the update while her costar Glen stood by her on the red carpet, suggesting that it wasn’t an awkward question to answer around him.

Although she and Jonathan, 39, may not have been hunting down wedding venues and trying to set a date, the two have been working together closely throughout the past year.

The lovebirds worked as producing partners on her upcoming film Anyone But You, which they produced through her company Fifty-Fifty Films.

Sydney also served as an executive producer on the film.

‘I think it’s incredible being able to work with people who you wanna be in business with,’ she gushed about their professional collaboration. ‘It’s amazing having someone who cheers you on and someone who fully just supports what you do.’

But the Euphoria star also took the opportunity to praise her costar Glen, whom she described as Anyone But You’s on-set clown, which forced her to try not to ‘constantly just crack up the entire time.’

‘Glen and I would just look at each other, and we would just burst into laughter. Or we wouldn’t even be looking at each other, we could just feel that and just laugh. It was amazing,’ she continued. ‘There’s just so much love amongst everyone. I mean, I feel like this entire cast will be family for the rest of my life.’

Filming for Anyone But You commenced in February 2023 in Sydney and elsewhere in New South Wales, Australia.

She and Glen star in Anyone But You as two people who get set up on a blind date that initially goes well before they quickly get sick of each other.

But when the two end up at the same destination wedding in Sydney, they decide to keep up appearances as the perfect new couple despite hating each other’s guts.

Glen was similarly complimentary about Sydney while speaking on the red carpet.

‘I think honestly if you’re talking about somebody who’s incredibly easy to have chemistry with, we really have the best time together and that’s what like rom-coms are about,’ he told ET.

‘It’s like someone, who, you know, doesn’t take themselves too seriously,’ he shared. ‘And when you have to strip down naked on the side of a cliff and act like a spider’s, you know, coming out here, you know, there’s no better person to go into the trenches [with].’

Sydney jumped in to confess: ‘If you actually look at the scene, I start breaking down behind him.’

Anyone But You will be released in theaters on December 22, after being pushed back a week from its initial December 15 date.

Sydney and her fiancé Jonathan were first linked as a couple back in 2018, and they kept their relationship under the radar for several years.

But the Reality actress set off engagement rumors in February 2022, when she was spotted in Southern California while wearing an enormous diamond ring on her left ring finger.

However, both Sydney and Jonathan declined to comment on the ring or clear up their engagement status, and Sydney has often gone without the sparkler in public — as she did on Monday at her film premiere.

Instead of wearing the rock on her ring finger, she had on what appeared to be a different, more modest diamond ring with dual diamond-encrusted bands surrounding it on her left middle finger.

The mystery around Sydney’s engagement status with Jonathan also seems to have played into rumors of an on-set love affair with her costar Glen.

Fans began speculating that there was a significant connection between the two when they were seen looking particularly cozy and affectionate in photos snapped during the production Down Under.

Glen’s own tumultuous relationship status only fueled the online chatter.

In April of this year, his then-girlfriend, the model Gigi Paris, unfollowed both him and Sydney on Instagram, which has now become a common nonverbal sign of a rift.

A cryptic video post shared around the same time showed Gigi walking down a sidewalk and flashing a smile, and she captioned it: ‘Know your worth & onto the next.’

The unfollowing spree was a significant reversal, after Glen’s ex previously posted a set of celebratory emojis when Sydney was announced as his costar before filming had commenced.

But a source later told Page Six that Glen and Gigi had broken up amicably weeks before rumors about him and Sydney began flying, even though her Instagram post sounded less than amiable.

Sydney also tamped down on the rumors in August when she claimed her overly bubbly public interactions with her costar were primarily a marketing ploy for their film.

‘It’s a rom-com,’ she explained in an interview with Variety. ‘That’s what people want! Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.’

‘They want it,’ she added. ‘It’s fun to give it to ’em.’

Sydney may have been on to something, as romantic comedies have particularly struggled at the theatrical box office in recent years, while studios have tried to preemptively cut their losses by shunting them to streaming services in hopes of attracting new subscribers.

Time will tell if her strategy to drum up interest can save Anyone But You from the same fate.
