Stars of Australian soap Sons and Daughters reunite for the first time in more than three decades
One of Australia’s best-loved soap operas premiered on the Seven Network 41 years ago.
Sons And Daughters had an impressive run of 972 episodes over five years, and while many of its actor continued to pave successful careers, some failed to stay in contact with each other after the show ended.
However, several stars reunited on Channel 7’s The Morning Show on Tuesday, and for fans of the 80s soap, they looked unrecognisable.
Speaking to hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies, actor Tom Richards, who played David Palmer on the hit show, said it was sad to reminisce about the program because it was ‘so many years ago’.
However, he said it was amazing to reunite with his co-stars Kim Lewis, who played Jill Taylor, and Danny Roberts (Andy Green).
Sons And Daughters premiered on the Seven Network in 1982, and now the cast have reunited once again
‘It’s been 40 years since I seen Kim, and it’s been 27 since I saw Danny,’ Tom said, as the network showed sweet footage of the actors hugging.
Danny spoke very fondly of his time on the show, and how Tom was one of his heroes growing up.
‘I learnt a lot off Tom, he was one of my heroes growing up, when he was on Division Four I’d be watching in the corner on the black and white TV,’ he said.

While the cast reunited with one another for the first time in decades, they are also holding an event for fans to meet them and reminisce on the iconic show.
‘A big reunion is going to be happening on November 4, it’s a one-off, there’s going to be quite a few of us going and there are limited tickets,’ Tom said.
‘We will be on stage talking and being interviewed, and we will also meet the fans.’
Kim added: ‘We will chat and meet everyone and tell some stories, it’s going to be a fun time.’

Sons and Daughters told the story of Australia’s very own Romeo and Juliet, but it had a very controversial twist.
It revolved around the wealthy Sydney-based Hamilton family and the working-class Palmers from Melbourne.
In true soap fashion, John Palmer (Peter Phelps) and Angela Hamilton (Ally Fowler) met while John was on the run from police for a murder he didn’t commit.
The pair inevitably fell in love before discovering they were twins, separated at birth, conceived through an affair between Tom’s character David Palmer and Patricia Hamilton (Rowena Wallace).
