Model Simone Holtznagel has taken a swipe at I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! intruder Davina Rankin following her arrival in the jungle on Wednesday.

Davina, who is known for her villainous portrayal on Married At First Sight in 2018, introduced herself by declaring she was once ‘the most trolled person in Australia’.

‘I think a lot of people remember me as the villain… I guess every show needs its villain. I was the most trolled person in Australia,’ the former glamour model said.

‘It was a tough time, but, I mean, it has made me very resilient. If I can get through that, I think I can get through almost anything. I am truly ready for it,’ she added.  

Davina’s monologue hit a nerve with Simone, whose late mentor and friend Charlotte Dawson killed herself nearly eight years ago after facing abuse from trolls on Twitter.

In 2018, Simone broke down as she revealed to her campmates that she had to identify Charlotte’s body following her passing.

Simone also penned a heartfelt social media tribute to Charlotte on the date of her death in February last year. 

‘The last 7 years when this date comes around, I feel like I want to say something profound about suicide and losing one of the most special people in my life,’ she wrote to Instagram.  

‘But 7 years comes and goes and I still can’t seem to find the right words other than – I miss you, I love you and I f**king wish you were here. That’s all I can manage.’
