Police shot a man dead while executing a warrant at a home in Sydney’s north-west.  

In a statement, NSW Police said officers attended a home in Bulah Way, Seven Hills about 11.20am on Tuesday when a ‘physical confrontation’ broke out.

The man was then shot by officers, who performed CPR until paramedics arrived, however he could not be revived.

A crime scene has been established.

Police were seen to speak with a woman in a distressed state near the home. 

Roads in the area are currently closed as an investigation begins, NSW Police said in a Tweet.

Witnesses said a CareFlight helicopter landed in a park behind homes in the street where the shooting occurred.

The Seven Hills street had been the scene of a number of incidents in recent years, including a stabbing in December 2019 where a 37-year-old man was charged.

In October 2018 a man who escaped from Goulburn Jail was also discovered in a house on Bulah Way, while in November last year a man was charged after a home invasion on the street.
