Sarah Polley shines as she accepts Director Of The Year award for Women Talking at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards

Sarah Polley chalked up another win for her film Women Talking.

The artist, 43, took away the award for Director of the Year at the 34th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on Thursday. 

The Canadian beauty was stylish in a mustard toned two-piece suit with a double breasted jacket.

The talented actress, writer and director wore a simple button down brown shirt beneath, brown boots and a white flower boutonnière.

Her blonde hair was styled straight and the actress wore natural looking makeup and black framed glasses. 

The star-studded ceremony included awards for Brendan Fraser, Cate Blanchett,  Austin Butler and Viola Davis, among others.

The award was just the latest in a long list of accolades for the drama, which has racked up dozens of wins since it began making the film festival circuit.

The film has received Golden Globe nominations for Best Screenplay and Score. 

Women Talking is based on the novel by Miriam Toews, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sarah.

The story focuses on a group of women living in an isolated and very conservative religious community who must choose between forgiving the men who have sexually assaulted them or leaving the only home they have ever known.

Oscar winner Frances McDormand, Jessie Buckley, Claire Foy and Rooney Mara are part of a powerful ensemble cast in the drama which has received a 90-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 

Sarah’s The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen co-star Eric Idle presented the award to her saying, ‘I suspect and hope this (award) will be the first of many.’

The actress was only nine when she took part in the action adventure and during her acceptance speech, she thanked Eric for saving her life during a stunt for the film, explaining, ‘I think many people in this room tonight have similar stories that they have told themselves or others about ways in which they stood up.’
