Sandro Tonali ‘could be available’ to face Wolves claims Eddie Howe as the Newcastle boss reveals the club are still awaiting official confirmation of his 10-month ban for betting

Eddie Howe believes there is a high chance Sandro Tonali could be available to face Wolves on Saturday with Newcastle awaiting official confirmation of the midfielder’s 10-month ban.

Italian FA chief Gabriele Gravina confirmed an agreement had been reached for a 10-month ban, including eight months of therapy, on Thursday.

Howe revealed at a pre-match press conference that the Magpies are still yet to receive confirmation.

‘It’s difficult because we haven’t had that official confirmation as a football club yet,’ Howe said.

‘We’ve heard the news and speculation statement, but we haven’t had anything from the Italian authorities at the moment so we’re in limbo really waiting for that official confirmation to come through.

‘I think there’s a high chance he could be available for us. There has to be a few things that have to happen before the ban is imposed so let’s see.’
