New Orleans Saints star Michael Thomas was reportedly arrested on Friday night after allegedly slapping a cell phone out of someone’s hand, with the wide receiver also accused of ‘throwing a brick’ at his car.
Neighbors saw Thomas being put into the back of a police car in Kenner, Louisiana, according to WDSU. But Sports Illustrated reported that the receiver is still expected to play against the Vikings on Sunday.
WDSU says a man told them that Thomas threw two bricks at his truck before pushing him over and trying to access his phone to delete footage of the altercation.
However, other reports claim the main factor that prompted Thomas’ arrest was him knocking a phone out of someone’s hand.
A Saints spokesman told Saints News Network on Friday night: ‘We aware of the incident and are gathering information.’

The incident is said to have occured around 5.30pm on Friday night, with Thomas accused of throwing a brick at the truck of a contractor who was working near his home.
Luis Cifuentes, who is building a home across the street from Thomas’ house, told WDSU that the confrontation came after weeks of threats.
It’s claimed Thomas had grown upset with the construction crew for parking on the street and allegedly told Cifuentes that if the cars weren’t moved, he would get a brick or a bullet in his car.
‘He drives up, and I see him get out, and I was like: “I don’t know what he’s doing, I’m just worried about my job site,”‘ the witness told WDSU.
‘He walks up to this big pile of sand and grabs a brick, and he throws it at my car, and the guys are like: “Hey, man your truck, your truck!”

‘(I thought): “Oh, dude, he’s actually doing something,” so, I grab my phone and I started recording him. He saw that I was record and he grabbed my phone and grabbed and pushed me.’
The witness added: ‘I told him: “Man, listen, I cheered for you every Sunday, I never once thought I would have an issue like this with you.”‘
Footage, shot by WDSU, showed a brick on the ground, damage to truck windows as well as police analyzing the scene and photographing Cifuentes’ injuries.
It comes just a couple of weeks after Thomas’ fellow Saints WR Chris Olave was arrested on suspicion of reckless operation of a motor vehicle in Kenner.
In a statement, police in Kenner – located about 15 miles west of New Orleans – allege that Olave was driving 35 mph above the posted 35 mph speed limit (70mph).
