Ranvir Singh juggles Strictly Come Dancing AND presenting GMB

Strictly shattered! Ranvir Singh is working 16-hour days as she juggles TV presenting job with role on dance show

  • When she’s working on Good Morning Britain, Ms Singh gets up at 3am
  • Leaves the house just half an hour later before arriving at TV studios at 4.30am
  • Has make-up done and reads newspapers before going on air on GMB at 6am
  • Is off air by 9am and practices with Strictly partner Giovanni Pernice until 6pm
  • Gets home at 7.30pm before spending time with her eight-year-old son Tushaan
  • Finally goes to bed at 9pm after watching Modern Family to wind down

She looked perfectly composed as she was spun around the dance floor on Saturday night.

But behind the scenes presenter Ranvir Singh is juggling a hectic schedule and gruelling rehearsal regime that sees her working almost 16 hours a day.

When she’s working on Good Morning Britain, she gets up at 3am and leaves the house just half an hour later, with her work notes ready to read en route.

The ‘exhausted’ star arrives at the television studios at 4.30am, where she has an hour or so to have her hair and make-up done and read the newspapers before going on air at 6am.

Miss Singh, 43, who topped the Strictly leader board with her foxtrot the week before last, is off air by 9am and changes into her training clothes.

When most people are starting work, she has finished her day job and heads to dance rehearsals for at least seven hours with her Strictly partner Giovanni Pernice.

‘Yes, I am exhausted. But, I also feel very lucky,’ she told the Daily Mail.

‘Having lots of work is a blessing, and it would be churlish not to be grateful.

‘I don’t really feel like I’m running on adrenaline, I feel like I’m just really focused. I’ve got to do the dance – I can’t delay it!

‘I thrive on pressure – my whole professional life is working to live deadlines, so it’s quite a familiar feeling.’

She said she rehearses with Pernice from 9.30am until at least 6pm.

After her draining day, the single mother gets home around 7.30pm and spends time with her eight-year-old son Tushaan.

She said she will also usually ‘load the washing machine, rummage in freezer, make a three-egg omelette, and play with the dog’.

Miss Singh then gets an hour to unwind. She watches an episode of Modern Family and ‘snuggles’ on the sofa, before going to bed at 9pm.

Despite her rigorous regime, the presenter said that it is ‘100 per cent’ worth it to be a part of ‘one of the biggest shows’ on television.

‘And now, more so than ever, it feels like an honour to be taking part in the show, as it provides a bright, magical moment, it lifts us out of what we are all going through. That’s the joy of it,’ she said.

6.30PM - She finally makes her way home and gets back at around 7.30pm before spending time with her eight-year-old son Tushaan

Miss Singh, whose chemistry with Pernice has already set tongues wagging, revealed she had split from husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal shortly before the show began.

‘It’s hard work being a working single parent,’ she told Woman And Home magazine shortly before her dance floor debut.

‘I struggle with an enormous amount of guilt with my son and not being there when he goes to school. We’re very attached to one another because it’s just me and him.’
