A man in his 60s was filmed unleashing a vile racist tirade at a group of fishermen on Anzac Day.

Footage of the abuse, which took place on a pontoon off the Brisbane River in Queensland on Tuesday evening, shows an older man attempting to beat the group of four with a pair of crutches.

The fishermen repeatedly ask him ‘what’s wrong?’ before he begins his racist rant.

‘You’re f****** Chinese – f*** you!’, he says.

One of the group tells the man he is not Chinese.

But he refuses to listen, adding: ‘Chinese c***s – get off here!’

The man in his sixties repeatedly swore at the group, calling them ”Chinese c***s’. He was fined for public nuisance

The fishermen repeatedly attempt to de-escalate the situation but the is having none of it.

He accuses one of them of having something in their bag and demands to see it, claiming ‘he has stuff’ and shouts ‘show me!’ over and over again.

‘You (inaudible), you steal,’ he says.

‘You can’t f****** do anything on your own. All you have to do is f****** steal from us.’

One of the victims of the abuse told 9News Queensland that he had no idea why the man attacked their group.

‘No reason, (he) just come and hit people,’ said fisherman Job Prasong.

‘I tried to stop him but he tried to push me in the water and try to fight everyone.’

Mr Prasong, a Muay Thai instructor and student, said that the couple he and his friend were fishing with are from Korea.

The man was fined almost $400 for public nuisance after the police were called and interviewed him for around half an hour.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said: ‘Initial information indicates the man was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with a number of people at the nearby pontoon.

‘Police attended and the 69-year-old Teneriffe man was transported to Brisbane City Watchhouse and issued a $391 infringement notice for public nuisance (violent behaviour in other circumstances).

‘No complaints have been made in relation to assault however enquiries into the incident are continuing.’
