A New South Wales policeman has been charged with raping one woman and stalking another in a string of allegations dating back eight years.
Constable Joshua Alan James Wootton has been stood down but granted bail after he was arrested on Tuesday afternoon.
Wootton, from Oran Park in south-west Sydney, was taken into custody at 4.40pm and charged with nine offences at Narellan police station.
The 31-year-old, who is attached to a Central Metropolitan Region command, faced Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday morning.
Five of the charges relate to one woman and two to another. Both women are 26.

An eighth charge involves allegedly accessing restricted data on a police computer and the last is of misconduct as a police officer.
Wootton is charged with having sexual intercourse without consent with the first woman in July 2014 in a Hunter Valley town and in December 2017 in a south-western Sydney suburb.
He is charged with the assault occasioning actual bodily harm of that woman between September and December 2018 and damaging her mobile phone in September 2015.
Wootton is also charged with two counts of stalking and intimidating the first woman with the intention of causing fear of physical or mental harm in March 2022.
He is accused of committing the same offence against the second woman on February 22 and 24 this year at Bondi.
A further charge relates to accessing restricted data on the COPS police computer system between 5am and 7am on February 25 at Bondi.
That charge relates to allegedly looking up a Bondi address and the name of a man.

The stalking and accessing restricted data charges have resulted in Wootton also being accused of misconduct as a policeman between January and March.
Wooton, who is on bail, appeared briefly before magistrate Stephen Olischager who adjourned the matter until August 3.
The court heard the Director of Public Prosecutions would be taking over the case from police.
Strike Force Mattm was formed by Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command to investigate a number of alleged stalking, sexual assault and other offences against two women.
A police spokeswoman said Wootton had been stood down from duties while his employment status was under review.
