A joint Bengals-Packers scrimmage was interrupted by several scuffles involving Green Bay offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, who was ultimately escorted out of practice on Wednesday in Cincinnati.
Jenkins was seen shoving Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt and taking a swing at defensive tackle DJ Reader, the latter of which led to his ejection from practice and some criticism from the Cincinnati players.
‘Man, he’s a jag, man,’ Reader said, using a term that typically means ‘just a guy.’
Jenkins, 27, is a two-time Pro Bowl selection who is currently playing on a four-year, $68 million deal. But according to Reader, he owes much of his success to former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who was traded to the New York Jets before the season.
‘I don’t know that guy,’ Reader said of Jenkins. ‘No idea who he is. I mean, I see he made two Pro Bowls, so good for him, but he blocked for Aaron Rodgers. That don’t make you nobody.’

The fracas didn’t escalate to the level of the helmet-swinging melee between the Bengals and Los Angeles Rams during a joint practice in Cincinnati last year.
That one ended the session immediately.
‘Emotions get high,’ Green Bay left tackle David Bakhtiari said. ‘I know [Jenkins will] never do it in the game. He´s never done that in the game. So, the practice, I mean, it´s a little bit different. You know you shouldn´t, but you also know there´s no consequences.’
The Bengals and Packers play Friday night at Paycor Stadium.
