Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists the pressure of managing Manchester United is a ‘privilege’ as he admits he has been backed by the board and implores ‘I am here to win’ after patchy run of results

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists the pressure of managing Manchester United is a ‘privilege’ ahead of a crucial Champions League tie against Villarreal following a patchy run of results.

United lost their first European encounter of the season late on against Young Boys and after a home loss to Aston Villa at the weekend and being eliminated from the Carabao Cup last week, United will want to bounce back against the Spanish side who beat them in last season’s Europa League final.

Solskjaer said at his pre-match press conference: ‘That pressure is a privilege. To work in this environment, you have to embrace the pressure. I have been backed. It seems we are sticking to the plan.

‘But we are in a results business, we are here to win. I am here to win. Don’t think twice about that.’
