Nigella Lawson is in Australia to film the new season of Channel Seven cooking show My Kitchen Rules. 

And on Friday, the British television cook appeared relaxed as she caught up with a female friend at the upmarket Marion Wine Bar in Melbourne’s Fitzroy. 

The glamorous food writer, 62, donned a chic black ensemble and showed off her youthful complexion as she enjoyed a glass of wine and conversation with her pal.

During the catch-up, Nigella made a number of animated facial expressions and used her hands for dramatic effect.

The sighting came shortly after the bestselling cookbook author was spotted filming scenes for the upcoming season of My Kitchen Rules at the Sydney Opera House. 

Nigella has replaced disgraced chef Pete Evans as co-host of the popular show alongside returning judge Manu Feildel.

‘Going to restaurants can be a treat, but for me, the true story of food is told through the cooking we do at home,’ Nigella said in a statement.

‘So, to have the chance to champion home cooks and be given the intimate privilege of being invited into people’s homes to eat their food fills me with gratitude and excitement in equal measure!’

MKR will return to Channel Seven later in the year after a hiatus following a drop in ratings, with the network insisting season 12 will return to its roots.
