Since finding himself in tax trouble with the IRS in 2009, Cage has appeared in nearly 60 films, and he’s already got two more in post-production that are slated for release in 2024.
Plus, he’s got a brand new comedy film, Dream Scenario, that’s making its world premiere at the the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday in Toronto.
For his latest role, Cage plays Paul Matthews, a hapless professor who finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams.
While Cage is now focused on the promotional push for Dream Scenario, he’s also directing as much love and attention as he can to his daughter August, who just celebrated her milestone first birthday.

Looking cool in an all-black animal print suit with a matching dress shirt, tie and shoes, Cage (born Nicolas Kim Coppola) exuded confidence as he made his way from his car to the venue.
Fans and media alike played the role of admiring spectators, shooting photos and videos of the star’s every move, all while he offered a few smiles and waves.
Ultimately he made his way to the red carpet, where he posed both solo and alongside some of his fellow cast and crew.
Written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, the storyline for Dream Scenario focuses on Cage’s Paul Matthews character, who never hit the big time in his life, only to find himself now an overnight celebrity after appearing in everyone’s dream.
But ultimately his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, which then forces Paul to navigate through his newfound stardom, according to IMDb.
Along with Cage, the comedy film also stars Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Gelula, Lily Bird, Dylan Baker and Jessica Clement.
Dream Scenario is scheduled to have its wide released by A24 on November 10.

‘Over the course of my career I have paid at least $70 million in taxes, unfortunately, due to a recent legal situation, another approximate $14 million is owed to the IRS,’ Cage told People magazine at the time, as reported by NBC News.
He continued, ‘However, I am under new business management and am happy to say that I am current for 2009, all taxes will be paid including any to be determined state taxes.’
He was able to tackle his IRS issues, mainly by starring in as many films as he could land since around 2009.
