Netflix has finally confirmed that its beloved legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer will return for a third season.
After cancelling a string of hit shows, including Young Wallander and the since-resurrected Warrior Nun, fans had feared the series could be next to face the chop.
The second season concluded on August 3, and now fans can look forward to another 10 episodes, about the LA-based lawyer Mickey Haller.
Season three will be based on the fifth book in Michael Connelly’s series titled The Gods of Guilt, and will see Manuel Garcia-Rulfo reprise his role as Mickey Haller.
Once again he will appear alongisde Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), Angus Sampson (Cisco) and Yaya DaCosta (Andrea Freemann).

However, Neve Campbell will not be returning as a series regular, with her character Maggie noticeably absent from Connelly’s fifth book.
Season two came to a dramatic conclusion as Mickey headed to the prison to meet his new client, Julian La Cosse, who has been accused of murder.
It then ended on a huge cliffhanger as the defence attorney recognised the body of the dead woman – meaning a third season could explore the events leading to Giselle’s murder.
The books were previously adapted into a film in 2011, starring Matthew McConaughey as the titular attorney.
After Netflix announced the show’s renewal, fans took to social media to share their delight with one tweeting: ‘Can’t wait for the new season!’
Another added: ‘I will be watching this,’ and a third added: ‘We would love to see @lanaparrilla again.’
One went onto post: ‘Great news! Justice for Glory Days!’
It comes after Netflix fans went wild over their new thriller Who Is Erin Carter? which they’ve hailed as a ’10/10.’

Since its release on the streaming giant on Thursday, several TV fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the show – starring Evin Ahmad as the titular character – with many viewers branding it ‘brilliant’ and ‘dope’.
While another confessed that they simply ‘couldn’t leave’ their laptop until they’d finished watching the whole series.
The show, released on August 24, centres around the secretive teacher whose name inspires the title, as her past catches up with her despite leaving home with her family for Spain.
The huge reaction to the seven-part series comes after it was initially panned by critiques who slammed it for it’s ‘atrocious dialogue’.
However, it’s clear that Netflix viewers have ignored the naysayers, with several expressing their excitement over the show on social media.
One wrote on Twitter: ‘Started Who is Erin Carter? On Netflix and couldn’t leave my laptop till I finished it. It was brilliant!’
While in response, a second person added: ‘I concur. A roller coaster.’

Netflix’s synopsis of the series promises an intriguing story, following Erin, the ‘mum, wife, and teacher’ whose life is at risk of unravelling when it becomes apparent that she is more than she lets on after she is recognised by an armed robber.
The supply teacher has moved with her family to Barcelona, where it would appear she is hoping to cover her tracks.
