Africa’s most famous footballer can’t even escape the mania on the pitch, as Mohamed Salah was mobbed three times during Egypt’s clash with Angola.

The Liverpool superstar once again played a decisive role as the Pharaohs secured their place in the World Cup qualifying play-offs by coming from behind for a 2-2 draw.

Salah provided a skilful assist as part of their comeback from 2-0 down, which encountered a trio of disruptions as fans invaded the pitch.

One Salah-mad supporter sprinted across the turf just as Egypt were launching an attack for the winner. The forward obliged with a hug before police arrived to march the fan out of the 11 de Novembro Stadium.

The 29-year-old will go down as one of this generation’s great names in Europe, let alone Africa – where his star-power is booming.

Salah has 45.6million followers on Instagram, having broken into the top-10 most popular footballers on the platform this year.

That number is rapidly on the rise thanks to Salah igniting his top form so far this season.

The Liverpool talisman is the leading Premier League scorer after hitting double figures 11 games into the season, with 15 goals in 15 games in all competitions.

Now he has moved Egypt one step closer to the World Cup, with the Pharaohs sealing top spot in Group F ahead of Gabon, Libya and Angola.

They face the play-offs next and Salah will be determined to secure a spot at his second World Cup, after the forward’s Russia 2018 experience was blighted by the injury he suffered in the 2017-18 Champions League final.
