Mel B smokes a cigarette during a photo shoot for The Masked Singer Australia

The new judges for The Masked Singer Australia braved the chilly weather in Sydney on Wednesday to shoot promo photos for the upcoming season.

Mel B puffed on a cigarette while leaving the studio in a pink cocktail dress, as her dolled-up co-star Abbie Chatfield made a swift exit in a fluffy robe.

The former Spice Girl, 47, showcased her famous curves in the figure-hugging frock, which featured a daring thigh split.

Abbie, a former Bachelor star who is now one of Australia’s most in-demand media personalities, looked freezing as she walked through the car park.

The 27-year-old tried to keep warm by layering a beige robe over her dress.

The sighting comes days after Hughesy discussed his tumultuous relationship with Mel during an interview on The Sunday Project.

‘We’ve got a new panel. We’re actually already filming, and it’s hectic! Absolutely hectic. I tell you what – I know why Scary Spice is called Scary Spice,’ he said.

‘I love her, and she knows it, but me and her have a relationship going. She told me to beep off in our first meeting.’

When asked why the pair didn’t get along, the 51-year-old comedian said they both have strong personalities.

‘Because I’ve got my own ideas and she has hers, and sometimes they clash. I love her though. And she knows I love her,’ he said.

He went on to explain that Mel gets annoyed when he picks the names of dead celebrities when trying to guess who is behind the masks.

Mel appeared on Hughesy’s 2Day FM breakfast show earlier this week to hash out their differences.

She admitted she found Dave ‘a bit creepy’ when they first crossed paths, but has eventually grown to like him.

‘[What I said] was something along those lines [of “f**k off”] because he was being a bit creepy… a bit stare-y. And I’m like, “What are you doing?”‘ she said.

Mel insisted, however, that she and Hughsey are now getting along fine.

‘I know he’s got a beautiful wife, great kids… that also don’t want to spend that much time with him, because they went away on holiday!’ the English singer joked.

Mel later admitted that while she often clashes with Hughsey during filming, her daughter is actually one of his biggest fans.
