Mark Wright gives fans a first look at the latest addition to his £3.5million dream home – but admits he was at loggerheads with wife Michelle Keegan over decision to include it

They’ve been overseeing the development of a sprawling new home in the Essex countryside, but Mark Wright admits he was at odds with wife Michelle Keegan over one of its finishing touches.

The couple finally completed work on their home, an impressive £3.5million rebuild located in Wright’s beloved home county, in August – almost four years after embarking on the ambitious project.

They have since been focusing on interior and exterior embellishments, among them the landscaping of its spacious grounds and a variety of decorative touches to its numerous rooms.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Wright, 36, discussed their latest, but admitted it only happened after a disagreement with his actress wife, also 36.

Sharing footage of an open plan seating area adjacent to the entrance hall, the former TOWIE cast-member said they were at loggerheads over whether or not to close it off.

He said: ‘We have a massive decision with this house – do we have doors here, or not? I think it looks better when you walk in and you see all the way through, but Michelle’s point of view is that when you’re on the couch it feels more homely if you shut yourself in a bit.’

Wright eventually conceded his wife managed to get her own way by sharing footage of glass paned double-doors sealing off what used to be an open walk-through.

And the TV personality admitted he was already won over, telling followers: ‘I don’t mind it! I think the missus, as always, was right on this one. That has literally changed the game.’

For reality star-turned presenter Wright and his actress wife, moving into their forever home – built from scratch after they purchased the land for £1.3million in 2019 – has taken almost two years.

During that time, the couple have frequently shared their journey, from original architect designs to choosing the right marble for their kitchen surfaces, on their @wrightyhome Instagram account – which has amassed 570,000 followers.

Like any stars with a huge social media presence – Wright has 1.8million Instagram fans, while Keegan has 6.7million – collaborations have come their way, with the couple seemingly lucky enough to have a slew of suppliers willing to collaborate with them on helping bring their property dream to life.

The couple, who are estimated to have a joint wealth of £12million, also haven’t been shy about putting call-outs for companies to work with them.

Having originally moved into the property last September, Wright and Keegan recently showed off their lavish new his and hers bathroom.

A stunning snap of the new room showed a pristine floating vanity unit in a marble finish with two gold sinks and large mirrors.

Wright also displayed his new high tech bedroom, with the couple splashing out on a bespoke bed featuring a pop up TV.

Sharing a clip on Instagram he wrote: ‘One of our favourite things about our house is the view from our bedroom.asn’t going to block that with a tv…. But we need a tv in our bedroom…. Soooo Simon @clarkeinfinity came up with this fantastic idea!’

They bought the home in October 2019 for £1.3million, and have been documenting the renovation process via Instagram.
