Manchester United have suffered a double injury blow in their Premier League clash with Luton, after Danish internationals Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund both went off with injuries.

Eriksen was the first to go off after 40 minutes with an apparent knee injury, while £72m summer signing Hojlund went off in the second-half with a hamstring issue.

Eriksen hobbled off the pitch and straight down the tunnel, as he was replaced by Mason Mount.

In a tough game, the Red Devils had already appeared to be struggling to break the deadlock against a resilient Luton defence.

In a season plagued by injuries, Erik ten Hag will be hoping the injury isn’t too serious and that the Danish international doesn’t miss too much time.

Eriksen had been called up to the Danish international team for their upcoming fixtures, putting his involvement with his country at risk.

The 31-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Red Devils in what has been a tough season for the club, with one goal and one assist to his name.

Going into their game with Luton, United had won just six of their 11 Premier League outings this season.

Part of that has been down to their injury crisis with the likes of Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia all missing games.

United’s opponents Luton go into the game looking to provide another shock result after picking up a draw against Liverpool last weekend.
