Fifteen cars have been involved in a horror crash on Sydney’s M4 motorway with commuters warned they’ll be facing major delays on their way to work.

Two of the three westbound lanes were closed on the M4 near the Cumberland Highway off-ramp in South Wentworthville after the collision on Thursday morning.

Emergency services including ambulance crews are at the scene assessing three patients for minor injuries.

Westbound traffic is heavy and commuters have been urged to allow for more travel time.

The two lanes have since reopened but delays are expected throughout the morning.

Meanwhile one of Melbourne’s busiest freeways was also closed after a crash.

Melburnians face a lengthy commute to work on Thursday following a collision involving multiple vehicles on the Eastlink at Wantirna South.

All northbound lanes are closed and motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible.

Live traffic from the freeway shows long queues of traffic snaking back for kilometres.
