Major crash on Brisbane’s M1 motorway with 15 cars involved causing peak hour chaos – while huge fire brings traffic to a standstill in Melbourne

  • Paramedics are assessing 13 patients with six residents taken to hospital
  • The 15-car smash occurred on Pacific Motorway just before 6am on Tuesday
  • Traffic has already been delayed by an hour with cars queuing up for kilometres 

A major crash involving up to 15 cars has caused huge traffic delays for commuters heading into the Brisbane CBD on Tuesday morning. 

The vehicles collided on the northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway just before 6am with the Juliette Street exit at Greenslopes now blocked. 

Ambulance crews assessed 13 patients with six taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Delays are expected to continue back to Upper Mount Gravatt with traffic already delayed by one hour as cars queue up for kilometres.

Drivers have been urged to avoid the area. 

Traffic delays have also been seen in Melbourne on Tuesday morning after a fire erupted at an abandoned strip club.
