Love Island victor Jess Harding has hit back at critics of her finale dress.
The beauty salon owner, 22, won the show with now-boyfriend Sammy Root, also 22, last month and despite winning over the public with her romance and personality, the dress she wore in the final came under fire.
After she was faced with a slew of cruel comments about the cowl neck white slip dress, she has now spoken out about the slurs, saying: ‘It wasn’t very nice to read, but I think I looked alright for the rest of the Love Island time…
‘I’m not losing any sleep over it. The dress was ruched at the side. It didn’t sit quite right on my boobs so it made me look bigger than what I am – I’ve actually got a diddy little waist. But you can’t have boobs and a bum and not hips.’
Jumping to his girlfriend’s defense, in their joint interview with OK! Sammy insisted he ‘loves’ Jess’ figure and her natural beauty.

The winner determinedly said: ‘The whole way through Love Island I’ve said to Jess that I think she is so beautiful when she’s completely natural. I love everything about Jess’ figure – I’ve made that very clear.’
Jess went on: ‘To be honest, I’ve heard there’s all these negative comments out there but I’ve not really seen anything, so I’m quite happy…
‘I’m sure if I went fishing for the negativity it would be there, but the support is crazy. I didn’t actually realise how many people love me – remember that, Sammy!’
On the night of the final, Love Island fans hit out at show bosses over the dress.
While fans of the show insisted Jess had looked stunning on multiple occasions throughout the series, many took to Twitter to say how much they disliked her ensemble for the final, with viewers blaming programme bosses for the look.
Angry fans protested: ‘Jess has the most gorgeous curves but they decided to stick her in a dress that has as much shape as a bin liner. They did Jess dirty with that dress, she’s had so many more flattering outfits during the season…

The couple pipped Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki to the post for the £50k prize, with Whitney and Lochan being named the favourites right up until the end.
Both Jess and Sammy appeared shocked and hugged each other tightly after show host Maya Jama announced they had won.
On Sunday evening they appeared alongside their co-stars on the reunion show, where they stayed removed from the drama yet others indulged.
Kady McDermott locked horns with former flame Zachariah Noble over her romance with Molly Marsh – as she instructed him to ‘enjoy his five minutes’.
Following the show, many of the stars headed to Chinawhite nightclub however Jess and Sammy opted out of the night out as well as Zach and Molly.
