Eight-time Major winner Tom Watson and LeslieAnne Wade have signaled the end of their marriage after just three months.

The former CBS executive, who now has her own golf PR firm — White Tee Partners —  took to Twitter on Monday to announce their time together had come to an end.

Watson and Wade married in July but since decided to call it quits due to the latter’s battle with an ‘unexpected illness.’

‘Over the past few months I have been focused singularly on a challenging road through unexpected illness,’ Wade tweeted this week.

‘Tom has been supportive including making sure I have the best possible care. I am beyond grateful to him and blessed that I will make complete and full recovery.

‘Sadly, the inability to launch and build our relationship properly in these early days forces us to terminate our marriage.

The pair were married for three months and has insisted on Twitter ‘we are good. Promise.’

‘He will always mean the world to me and our connection is forever.

Watson has not publicly commented on the matter but did retweet Wade’s announcement.

Wade and Watson married on July 9 in New Jersey after becoming engaged during a visit to Wade’s alma mater, Notre Dame, for a reunion in May.

Prior to their engagement, the former couple had known each other for 15 years.

Following her passing, Watson shared an emotional tribute to her life and memory.

‘The void she leaves will be filled by memories which will always remain as they leave indelible marks on our souls which we will never forget,’ he said at the time.

The five-time Open winner had been married once prior to that, wedding Linda Rubin, whom he met during high school.
