
Kentucky assistant football coach Liam Coen has ‘medical episode’ at the team’s offices but is in ‘good condition’ at a Lexington hospital and is expected to be released soon

Kentucky Wildcats offensive coordinator Liam Coen had a medical episode at the team’s offices on Sunday afternoon, but the school is reporting that he is in ‘good condition’ at a Lexington hospital.
Doctors will continue to monitor Coen, who is expected to be released Monday.
The school’s athletic department released a statement which read: ‘On Sept. 10, 2023, at approximately 12:40 p.m., assistant football coach Liam Coen had a medical episode while at work at UK’s football offices on campus.’
‘He is currently in good condition at UK Chandler Hospital, while doctors and medical personnel continue to monitor him, and is expected to be released Monday. Out of respect for his privacy and that of his family, we will have no additional comment at this time.’
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops is expected to speak with reporters at noon on Monday during his weekly news conference although there is no word if he will speak on Coen’s condition.

The 37-year-old Coen is currently in his second stint as offensive coordinator with the Wildcats after he previously held the same position under Stoops.
Coen previously held the position in 2021 before becoming LA Rams coordinator for a season.
