Julie Bishop shares shock career move that’s worlds away from politics as she teases her fans to ‘see the link in my bio for more’

Julie Bishop has announced her latest career venture after leaving politics in 2019.

The former federal foreign minister, 67, has set up her own ’boutique advisory firm’ that offers her personal services in everything from business development to social media influencing.

Offering herself up as a brand ambassador, her newly-launched website reads, ‘Julie has been referred to as Australia’s Minister for Fashion – she is well known for her love of fitness and fashion, and works with a few select brands she knows and loves.’

On the business side of things, Bishop says she’s ‘focused on providing strategic advice to boards and management on complex international and domestic business challenges.’

She’s currently offering herself up for public speaking and advocacy, ‘customised analysis of geopolitical and geostrategic developments’, business development and much more.

Indeed, Bishop has become quite the style influencer since leaving politics.

In addition to working the business and politics circuits, the 67-year-old has been spotted at events for Australian Fashion Week and Louis Vuitton.

The high profile public figure recently revealed that a trip to New York for the Met Gala was her number one ‘ultimate travel bucket list’.

‘Surely one year, I’ll get there,’ she told Marie Claire.

Bishop also said that her style inspiration was Amal Clooney, wife of Hollywood superstar George Clooney.

‘I love what she wears and whenever she wears it. She’s fabulous,’ she gushed over the glamorous barrister.

Back in April, she appeared to enjoy her new career as a social media influencer by promoting her stay at the five-star Gansevoort Meatpacking hotel in New York City – which costs up to $2,814 per night.

Offering herself up as a brand ambassador, her website reads, 'Julie has been referred to as Australia’s Minister for Fashion – she is well known for her love of fitness and fashion, and works with a few select brands she knows and loves'

After checking into the hotel, she gushed: ‘So my first stop at the Gansevoort is the coffee shop and they’re making me an almond milk cappuccino.’

‘#Giftedstay,’ she captioned the video, also tagging Luxury Escapes.

Julie then attended an Anzac Day dawn service in NYC, where she addressed the crowd wearing black pants and a long white designer coat.

The retired Liberal politician accessorised her ensemble with Louis Vuitton earrings, which retail for $37,000, and an $800 scarf.
