Jodie Comer is worlds away from her role as Villanelle as she shares a smooch with Ryan Reynolds in the trailer for Free Guy.

The Killing Eve star, 27, donned a dark-haired wig and a smart white lab coat for the film, which tells the story of a man who learns he’s living in a video game world.

Jodie joins Ryan and a star-studded cast including Taika Waititi and Joe Keery in the film, which currently has a prospective release date of December 2020.

Ryan’s character Guy, a bank teller living in Free City, is living comfortably until he meets Milly/ Molotov Girl and she reveals that not everything is at it seems.

Jodie’s portrayal of the character is a far cry from her performance as Villanelle, who is known for her eye-catching couture looks as she travels across Europe.

‘Guy, I have to tell you something. There’s no easy way to say this,’ she said. ‘This world is a video game. Listen to me, you’re not real.’

He refuses to accept Milly’s revelation and proceeds to pull her in for a steamy kiss, while the woman playing Milly in real-life watches in disbelief from her computer.

Directed by Shawn Levy, Reynolds also stars alongside Taika Waititi and Joe Keery in the philosophical action film.

Reynolds tweeted on Monday: ‘Sometimes life feels like you’re trapped inside a urine-burping septic tank of hate. But then you pause. Take a cleansing breath and here’s the trailer for #FreeGuy.’

The film was initially set to be released in July, but was pushed back to a Dec. 11 release due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.
