James Haskell has broken his silence on his split from Chloe Madeley after the couple announced their five year marriage has come to an end.
On Saturday, the former rugby player, 38, and Chloe, 36, released a joint statement that they split in September.
Alongside the post, James spoke about his ‘sadness’ about their break-up and that their priority is their 14-month-old daughter, Bodhi.
He told his 570k followers: ‘It’s with a lot of sadness I write this post, but unfortunately, in the world we live in, it has to be done.
‘My priority is my daughter’s and Chloe’s happiness and security. For that reason, I won’t be commenting any further.’

Break-up: On Saturday, the former rugby player, 38, and Chloe, 36, released a joint statement that they split in September
The couple’s joint statement said: ‘James and I mutually decided separate at the end of September, 2023.
‘We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time – certainly not while the television show was airing – but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand.
‘Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time.
‘Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love.’
Just four hours before the post, James had reshared a sweet picture to his stories of Chloe kissing their daughter, Bodhi, 14 months, lovingly on the head.
The words ‘mine’ with a white heart emoji could be seen across it.
He then shared some more sweet pictures of Bodhi out and about at a coffee shop.
The confirmation of the split followed instances where both Chloe and James were seen not wearing their wedding rings in the past weeks.
The former rugby player, 38, was also pictured chatting to a mystery blonde outside a London nightspot.

Rumours: The couple fuelled speculation about their relationship in recent weeks after they have both been seen without their wedding rings
Full of love: A source told MailOnline that James is still living at the family home so he can take care and help out with their daughter, Bodhi, 14 months
A source told MailOnline: ‘James Haskell is still living at the family home, he arrived back on Monday and was still there yesterday morning.’
MailOnline has contacted representatives of both Chloe and James for comment.
The couple did not reveal the split while promoting the ITV show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair but instead talked about their marriage as if they were still together.
The source added: ‘It is all so weird, and it all seems rather rum that Chloe did a round of interviews and talked very openly about her life and the marriage but she failed to say that she and James had split despite her television show being all about her family life.’
In one particular episode, Chloe expressed her frustration over James sharing pictures of himself with women in bikinis.
James extensively documented his business trip to Ibiza on social media, with numerous photos and videos featuring scantily-clad women.
During a recent interview, James revealed he had ‘a few arguments’ with his wife after extending his DJing trip.
An interview on the island with the former rugby player was published earlier this month, days after he was forced to deny any wrongdoing when pictures emerged of him looking cosy with a mystery blonde while on a night out in London.
Speaking to Unfiltered, James revealed Chloe thinks his jaunts to Ibiza are a ‘holiday’ for him, and she was furious when he extended his work trip by a few days.
James admitted: ‘My wife thinks DJing in Ibiza is a holiday – it’s work. We’ve had a few arguments about it. I mean she’s very supportive, but kind of extending your trip for a few extra days is probably taking the p**s a little bit.’
The retired athlete said the trip had to be extended, explaining: ‘I have to do an interview with you guys and I’ve got a boat trip later.’
Chloe was most recently seen without wedding ring on an outing with her daughter Bodhi and dad Richard Madeley, 67, over the weekend as James partied in Paris for the England vs South Africa rugby match – after his cosy night out with PR exec Martine Bridge.
He was seen whispering into the woman’s ear outside Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone, central London, at 1.30am. After the picture emerged, the sportsman claimed it was only a friendly interaction.
Chloe admitted she had ‘trust issues’ in their relationship in comments from 2020 which resurfaced in recent weeks.
Back then, the fitness fanatic opened up about the difficulties she and her husband had endured, admitting that she and James went through ‘trust issues and power struggles’ with the goal being to ‘eventually reach an understanding’.
The mother-of-one also noted that without ‘an accepted degree of push-pull’ within a relationship, ‘no couple can go the distance’.
