Calvin Ridley celebrated his first game in 686 days by catching his first Jaguars touchdown pass in the first quarter – and goading Colts fans in Indianapolis.

The former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver missed the majority of the 2021 season for mental health reasons, and then the entirety of the 2022 season after being suspended for betting on games, forfeiting all of his $11.1m salary.

The Jaguars traded for the 28-year-old regardless of his ban, and they were rewarded almost immediately in their first game of the season as he linked up with quarterback Trevor Lawrence to catch for a first-quarter touchdown.

On Jacksonville’s second drive of the day, the Jags were staring down a 3rd and 7 just nine yards away from the end zone.

With the Colts bringing the rush, Lawrence scrambled out of the pocket and found a wide-open Ridley in the end zone.
