Star of reality TV show Below Deck Aesha Scott has divided hundreds online after asking how people use bar soap in the shower
She asked her 463,000 Instagram followers whether they lather the soap and use their hands to wash themselves or move the bar around their body to wash themselves
In the video, Aesha said she was listening to a radio segment where the hosts were talking about why they didn’t like to share bars of soap with others.
‘One of the hosts said something about bar soap and doesn’t like to share because she puts the bar between her butt or whatever and I suddenly realised, do some people out there move the bar around their body?’ she exclaimed.
Aesha said in the shower she lathers up the soap in her hand then uses the suds to wash her body.
‘It hasn’t even come into my mind to push the bar around my body so now I’m so intrigued. What do you guys do?’ the star asked prompting a lively discussion in the comments
‘It hasn’t even come into my mind to push the bar around my body so now I’m so intrigued. What do you guys do? Do you push the bar around or do you suds it and then use your hands like me?,’ the Kiwi stewardess asked.
The video was flooded with comments as hundreds of viewers shared their preferred bathroom habits and most of which said they move the bar around their body.
‘I’ve done it but it flies everywhere, adds way too much stress to a wash haha,’ one person wrote.
‘Okay but real talk, rubbing the bar all over works so much more effectively,’ a second said and another admitted: ‘I put the bar all over my body even between my cheeks’.
‘So weird. I just get soap on my hands and put the bar back,’ a fourth replied.
Many said they use a wash cloth to wrap the soap in or lather it up.
‘Wrap the bar with wash cloth and move that around my body. I always have enough suds that way,’ one person responded.
‘I lather the bar in a way cloth, put the bar down and use the soapy cloth,’ explained another.

The wash cloth conversation prompted Aesha to make a follow-up video saying she had no idea they were so common.
‘I wake up this morning and like 90 per cent of the comments say that they use a wash cloth! What?’ she said.
‘In New Zealand we use like a face cloth to wash your face but I’ve never heard or thought of washing your body with a cloth and you all do it. This is just so mind blowing, it’s insane. Is this an American thing?’
