Hard Knocks: Aaron Rodgers star-struck by ‘Voice of God’ Liev Schreiber before Jets quarterback tells Sauce Gardner he will be a Hall Of Famer

Aaron Rodgers appeared almost star-struck when he had the chance to meet the ‘Voice of God’, Liev Schreiber, during the first episode of the new series of Hard Knocks.

The series, which this year follows the New York Jets as they embark on a new era with Rodgers at the helm, began on Tuesday night.

The opening episode centers around the 39-year-old quarterback’s arrival from the Green Bay Packers. But the real star of the show – at least in Rodgers’ eyes – is the show’s iconic narrator, Schreiber.

Towards the start of Tuesday’s episode, Rodgers was asked about the propsect of his side’s preparations for the season being caught on camera.

‘One of the only things I like about Hard Knocks is the “Voice of God”, who narrates it,’ he said. ‘I hope I get to meet him.’

Then, midway through one training session in New York, a helicopter appears overhead. Rodgers speculates that it could be Schreiber and his wish was granted when the actor steps out of the chopper.

Schreiber introduces himself to Rodgers, who removes his helmet and says: ‘It’s great to meet you… I’ve been a fan of yours forever.’

The quarterback adds: ‘There are a tonne of your movies I love… it’s great to see you.’

Schreiber replies: ‘I’m glad you’re here man… you’ve made a lot of New Yorkers very happy.’ To which Rodgers responds: ‘Me too… I’m having a great time.

The quarterback then tries to convince his Jets teammates and staff to meet the narrator. ‘It’s the voice of God! You guys didn’t say hi? Go say hi!’ he says, before telling offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett: ‘Don’t be an a******… he’s nervous, he wants to meet people.’
