The World Series isn’t coming to Philadelphia this year, but WWE just might, after a fan of the Phillies was floored with a brutal clothesline before the team’s NLCS Game 7 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Footage shared by a resident of the City of Brotherly Love on Instagram shows a fan running away from policemen on horses outside of Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night, without much context provided.
The clip starts with the fan emerging out of nowhere and evading arrest, while other fans were probably tailgating, or hanging out, in one of the stadium’s parking lots.
And while the individual is recording what’s happening, a young girl seems to ask: ‘Why are they chasing him?’
‘Stay by the car, kid,’ the man replied.

A security guard delivered a clothesline to the fan in a clip recorded by another Phillies fan
The fan manages away from officers and in between parked cars, but that’s when the security guard blindsides him and delivers a clothesline in his best John Bradshaw Layfield impression.
‘Ohhh, got him,’ said the guy recording the hit. ‘Damn!’
The security guard, who’s wearing a yellow jacket in the video, proceeds to arrest the fan with the help of another wearing a red shit, while police officers make their way over on their horses.
The narrator closes out the video by saying: ‘The cavalry’s here. Game 7, go Phils.’
It’s unclear why the fan was running away from cops and what he was charged with.
The fan, however, didn’t get the result he wished for as the Phillies were eliminated from the MLB postseason with a 4-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

The Diamondback will face the Texas Rangers next in the World Series after winning the ALCS
Philadelphia had been undefeated at home in the playoffs before Game 6, but lost two consecutive games to Arizona in its own ballpark to fall one game short of returning to the World Series.
The Diamondbacks will now face the Texas Rangers in Game 1 of the biggest series in baseball.
The Rangers dumped the Houston Astros out on Monday in seven games to make their first World Series appearance ever.
Last year’s matchup was Phillies-Astros, with Houston emerging victorious in seven games to lift The Commissioner’s Trophy.
