Geordie Shore has reportedly axed filming for their summer series as an illness has swept the cast.
Stars of the MTV reality show had all been flown out to Cyprus to shoot the next instalment but it has been claimed many became too unwell to film.
It has been reported that some stars were so poorly that they have now returned to the UK as production was abandoned.
A source told The Sun: ‘It was horrific – everyone got ill and couldn’t film.
‘It ripped through the cast so in the end, bosses had to end filming early and everyone went home.’

MTV have been approached for comment by MailOnline.
It comes after it was reported back in February that Geordie Shore has been AXED after 12 years on screens.
The MTV reality show – which followed the lives of partying stars such as Vicky Pattison and Charlotte Crosby in Newcastle – was pulled amid plummeting ratings, The Sun claimed at the time.
The series started in 2011 and has produced hosts of celebrities and influencers including Marnie Simpson, Holly Hagan and Sophie Kasaei.
A source told the publication of the axing: ‘MTV chiefs have decided the time has come to call it a day on Geordie Shore.
‘The already commissioned series, which is the show’s 24th, will go ahead with filming kicking off this weekend and the reunion will go ahead as planned later this summer.
‘But once those have been filmed MTV have decided to rest the series and will not be commissioning any more. Think of it as resting the format rather than cancelling it out right.’

The insider added that while it has been one of the most successful runs of all time it hasn’t been the same for a few years so bosses thought it would be the right time.
The publication reported that while at the height of its success more than one million people viewed each episode – it is now said to be at around 100,000 viewers.
An official MTV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Geordie Shore has not been cancelled and continues to be one of MTV’s biggest shows. We can’t wait for fans to see what we have in store next season’.
The 24th series will go ahead and so will a second reunion series this summer.
Last April MTV announced that it was producing a first Geordie Shore reunion series that aired in September 2022.
OG cast members including Charlotte, Holly and Sophie returned to screens together, 11 years after the reality show first aired in 2011.
Original Geordie Shore paved the way for the success of its American equivalent, Jersey Shore, and follows a group of young adults from Newcastle as they move into a house together.
The reunion series included a group holiday, a long-awaited wedding and a party in the Geordie Shore house.
The new series was dubbed the ‘ultimate Geordie throwback’ as original cast members as well as Marnie – who joined the show in 2013 – made it their mission to organise the reunion.
Charlotte said of the news at the time: ‘I always said I would be up for taking part in a reunion show and made no secret that Geordie Shore holds a special place in my heart.
‘I’m very excited to reconnect and reminisce with my favourite people and life-long friends.’
The reality star originally left the show in 2016 after announcing her departure on Twitter.
After the success of that reunion series it was reported there will be another this summer that will still go ahead.
One of the main stars who didn’t return for the reunion was Vicky Pattison.
She recently said her time on Geordie Shore made her feel ‘like I probably wasn’t good for anything’.
The reality star, 35, shot to fame on the MTV series, but has made an effort to distance herself from the show ever since.
Speaking at an event for the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (Nacoa) at Portcullis House in London last month, she said she had ‘zero faith’ in herself to succeed.
She told the PA news agency: ‘Nobody would have anticipated that a little girl from Wallsend would be in the place that I am now less than me, I had zero faith in myself.
‘And my time spent on Geordie Shore just completely reinforced the idea that I probably wasn’t good for anything and I’m really lucky that I’ve managed to parlay that time spent in reality TV into something with longevity, into using my platform for good, into having a voice and speaking for the people that need you to speak for them.
‘So I would have never envisaged in my wildest dreams that I’d be here.’
She added: ‘It’s very important, if anybody has a platform, to use it for something. Otherwise, what are you f****** famous for?’
Vicky also said: ‘I’m really lucky to have a big platform, I can’t say I’m going to influence government, Jesus Christ, who do I think I am, but there is people within Nacoa and their ambassadors who do have that sort of power.

‘So I feel super honoured to be affiliated with people who are really campaigning for change and I’m going to do so in any way I can.’
Previously, Vicky has been very open about her father’s battle with alcoholism, and her own, revealing her fear that she would fall into the same trap.
She was known for binge drinking and wild nights on Geordie Shore, and has shared that looking back she is ‘mortified’ and was ‘never a nice drunk’.
Vicky also recalled contemplating suicide during her stint on the show, with the humiliation overtaking.
