He said they’d tried to make things work ‘for some time after the show’ but it didn’t pan out for the couple.

Ben said he ‘wanted to get out’ and speak up sooner but was unable to make his own statement about the split because ‘Channel Seven had my socials’.

It comes almost two weeks after Leish, 31, first announced the couple’s break-up in a statement on Instagram.

She revealed she’d tried ‘everything’ to make their relationship work and was ‘absolutely shocked and heartbroken’.

‘I tried everything I could to make our relationship last after the show. Including wanting to move to the farm earlier. Yes everyone, I was always planning on moving,’ she said.

‘But unfortunately it wasn’t there for Ben anymore and I was left absolutely shocked and heartbroken. I gave it my all and fell in love with Ben, his daughter and family (which hurts that little bit extra).

‘I am thankful for the support I have had these past few months from the other girls on Ben’s farm and the other farms. They have been true selfless legends in helping me heal,’ she added, before wishing Ben ‘all the best’ in the future.

The split came as a shock to FWAW viewers as Ben and Leish had a passionate connection this season, often sneaking away to steal kisses.

The hospital administrator fell into some hot water with the other women vying for the farmer’s heart after they caught her sneaking into his bedroom late at night.

She caught the farmer’s eye right off the bat, and was invited to come to his farm 24 hours ahead of everyone else – a favouritism which was obvious when Ben gravitated towards Leish for secret goodnight kisses.
