Fans furious as The Game pulls out of Australian tour alongside Ice Cube and Cypress Hill

Fans furious as rapper The Game pulls out of Australian tour for third time in 10 years but no refund reportedly offered

US rapper The Game has yet again cancelled his Australian tour, and fans are fuming that they are unable to get a refund.

Just two days before his tour alongside Ice Cube and Cypress Hill kicks off, Ticketek announced The Game will not be taking to the stage for any of the six Australian and New Zealand dates.

Instead, Aussie rap group AB Original will take his spot.

It’s the third time in 10 years that the rapper has pulled out of a tour Down Under after he promised his fans a return after cancelling his Jesus Piece tour in 2013.

On Tuesday, two days before the tour kicks off in Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, Ticketek sent out an email to ticketholders to inform them that The Game would no longer be performing due to ‘last minute commitments’.

Following the announcement, some fans are now asking Ticketek for a partial refund for tickets that cost as much as $350, as the replacement act is not as well-known as The Game, and many specifically bought them hoping to see the US rapper.

However, their demands are being denied.

Ticketek reportedly told fans that under the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practices, ‘a presenter is not required to provide an exchange option or refund where a ticketholder is unable to attend an event where a support act is replaced or if some of the acts appearing at a festival change’.

The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, has been active on his Instagram since it was announced he cancelled his performance on the Australian tour.

However, he has not addressed it.

On Wednesday, he posted a selfie to his grid and Australian fans were quick to hop to the comments and ask what what going on.

While another wrote: ‘Third time he’s doing this now .. no respect for the fans .. we pay hundred to see these guys and Game gets replaced by a group I never heard of.’
