The ex-wife of Pauline Hanson’s lover has branded him a fool – and is fuming that he’s hooked up with the controversial flame-haired far-right firebrand.
The One Nation leader has been in a secretive relationship with former real estate and property developer, Tony Nyquist, 73, for 13 years.
Daily Mail Australia revealed on Tuesday how Senator Hanson has now finally gone public with the relationship, after bragging: ‘I’ve kept him very secret.’
But she admitted she had been kept apart from her lover, who is based in Port Stephens, by Queensland’s Covid border restrictions and the NSW lockdown.
‘For those people in Queensland who can’t see their loved ones… I’m in that position,’ twice-married mum-of-four Ms Hanson, 67, told Sky News.

Sharlee Nyquist (pictured), ex-wife of Pauline Hanson’s secret lover, has branded him a fool – and is fuming that he’s hooked up with the controversial flame-haired far-right firebrand
‘I can’t see my partner who is in NSW and in lockdown there in Port Stephens and has been for the last couple of months.
‘He’s my partner of 13 years and he can’t get across the border.’
Now Mr Nyquist’s ex-wife Sharlee, 74, has unloaded on Ms Hanson, but insists it’s her politics that infuriate her and not bitterness over the relationship with her ex-husband.
She admits she’s disappointed her ex was now living with the controversial politician.
‘He’s a fool. But it’s his life,’ Ms Nyquist said.

Daily Mail Australia revealed on Tuesday how Pauline Hanson (pictured with daughter Lee) has now finally gone public with the relationship, after bragging: ‘I’ve kept him very secret.’
‘I won’t tell you what I think of her.
‘Not because of the situation she’s in with Tony but because of her politics.
‘I have no time for them. Sorry. No time whatsoever. That’s as polite as I can put it.’
The Nyquists split in 2006, before British-born immigrant Mr Nyquist first met Ms Hanson. They divorced in 2008 after which the once-secret relationship began.
Ms Hanson was single at the time, having recently broken off her engagement with country music singer Chris Callaghan after a three year relationship.
‘I suppose the divorce was acrimonious, but I don’t really know as I’ve only been through one,’ joked Ms Nyquist about her split with Tony.
‘I knew about them getting together a couple of months after it began, but we’d split up years before and we each had our own life by then.
‘He was very easy to be married to. There were never any serious problems but we just outgrew each other.’
Mr Nyquist met Ms Hanson at a BBQ hosted by his former sister-in-law, Rhonda Nyquist, at her sprawling Hunter Valley home in Maitland Vale.
Rhonda, a successful real estate agent was married to Mr Nyquist’s older brother Christopher, 78, until a couple of years ago, says Ms Nyquist.

Ms Hanson already knew Rhonda prior to meeting Tony and, according to Sharlee, the pair shared many political views.
Ms Hanson later set up a self-managed superannuation fund with Rhonda in 2012 and names her as a financial partner in the Parliamentary Register of Interests.
But Sharlee has revealed her ex-husband’s own politics were a world away from Ms Hanson’s while they were married – and he was actually a fan of one of her political nemeses.
‘He was a Malcolm Turnbull fan,’ she revealed.
‘A dyed in the wool conservative. He was never into far-right politics. It surprises everyone!’

The former Prime Minister has repeatedly attacked Ms Hanson’s political stunts such as wearing a burqa into the Senate, and her anti-immigration, anti-Islam, anti-Aboriginal and anti-vaxxer politics.
Ms Hanson and Mr Nyquist are now said to be living together in Port Stephens, when not separated by the Covid lockdown.
But she’s vowed never to walk down the aisle against after two failed marriages and a broken engagement.
‘I’d never get married again,’ Ms Hanson told Jessica Rowe this week on her podcast series, The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show. ‘I’ve made that decision.
‘We’re an independent couple. I’ve got my life and I do my job, and he has his independence.

‘He doesn’t want to be seen with me – that doesn’t sound very good “not being seen with me…” [I] keep him out of the spotlight.
‘He’s not a person who wants to be in the spotlight – [he’s] proud of me [and] what I do, but [he says], “You do it… I’m not interested in politics”.’
When they are together in Port Stephens however, the couple are regularly seen around the area by locals.
‘I’ve seen them in the Salamander Bay Shopping Centre together, seen them in Kmart,’ said one local soon after Ms Hanson first arrived in the area.
‘[Locals] accept her, they are happy to have her here. She’s very welcome.’
But incredibly, mum of two Sharlee says she’s never actually bumped into them, despite continuing to live in the same area.

‘It’s amazing. I know they’re an item and have been since 2008, but I have no contact with them at all,’ she admitted.
‘My children are adults and do not include me in anything they know about Pauline and Tony.
‘But I don’t think they know anything anyway because Tony always was someone who held things close to his chest.’
She added: ‘We’re not in the same friendship groups but I’ve never even seen them at the shops.
‘That’s my other life now.’
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ms Hanson’s office for comment.
