ESPN’s Adam Schefter recreates Vikings QB Kirk Cousins’ viral dance video

Schefter’s shirtless sequel: Bejeweled ESPN NFL Insider recreates Vikings QB Kirk Cousins’ viral dance video from the team’s sixth straight win… but fans overwhelmingly prefer original

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter may have gone a bit too inside the game on Monday Night Football by recreating Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins’ shirtless dance that went viral on Sunday.

‘You like that?’ the 55-year-old sports writer asked his on-air partners on the MNF pregame show as he contorted his shirtless body back and forth.

The Vikings quarterback went viral on the team plane following a 20-17 win over the Washington Commanders – Minnesota’s sixth straight victory – by doing a shirtless dance surrounded by his enthusiastic teammates.

Like Cousins on Sunday, Schefter was adorned with a tangled web of thick, gold jewelry around his neck.

‘Now Adam Schefter is imitating you on the pregame show,’ Peyton Manning told Cousins on ESPN’s ‘Peyton & Eli’ simulcast of Monday’s Ravens-Saints game, which Baltimore won, 27-13.

‘We don’t have to actually show that,’ Peyton said as a replay began to run.

‘I don’t want to watch that,’ added younger brother, Eli.

Viewers tended to agree, judging by the reaction on Twitter.

‘Holy hell man,’ tweeted former New York Giants and Jets tackle Jumbo Elliott. ‘Kids could be watching. LOL.’

‘Who thought this was a good idea?’ asked one fan.

‘Remember when he was just a NFL insider?’ asked another fan. ‘Can we go back to that?’

Cousins has made a habit of wearing flashy chains this season to celebrate Vikings wins, something he repeated after passing for 265 yards and a pair of touchdowns while beating his former team on Sunday.

And while the tight win helped the Vikings to a 7-1 record and a sixth straight win, the real show came on the plane back to Minnesota, where Cousins has produced several viral moments this year.

‘Next thing you know I got my shirt off, I got [linebacker Za’Darius Smith’s] watch on my wrist and they’re telling me all the dance moves I need to do with my hands,’ Cousins told the Manning brothers on Monday night. ‘If we keep winning these away games, but I’m kinda nervous where it could end up.’

The quarterback has donned the expensive-looking jewelry on at least two other occasions this season, as wins over the Saints and Dolphins prompted the 34-year-old to borrow his teammates chains as well.

‘I had never actually put on a chain,’ he said after wearing one on the flight back from the Vikings’ win over New Orleans in London. ‘It was very empowering.’
